Liquid swimming pool chlorine is used for pool disinfection from ages. It has 15% active chlorine content. Its  use is getting less due to TCCA 90 which is powerful, easy to use, store & handle.  Aluminum Sulfate, commonly called "Alum", has been used as swimming pool chemical for thousands of years as a water clarifier.   Over the period of several hours, the alum molecule attracts suspended particles. Eventually it grows to a large size and heavy weight, until it slowly sinks to the pool floor.  Alum is considered a flocculant, because it sinks material to the floor - as opposed to clarifier, which enlarge particles only slightly, for trapping within your pool filter. It helps in increasing the pool chlorine efficiency.

Bleaching Powder helps in keeping the swimming pool water clean & clear. It is the cheaper option for chlorine used in pool water. It is soluble in water but due to the presence of impurities, we never observe a clear water. Suction seeping of floor is required once bleaching powder is used in Swimming Pool.

 Sodium Carbonate (Na2CO3) or Soda Ash, more commonly known as Soda Ash, is an additive to raise the pH and alkalinity in swimming pools. Soda Ash has a high pH, somewhere between 11.3-11.7.
